Community Energy Action, or CEA, is a charitable trust based in Christchurch with nearly 30 years of experience dedicated to improving the energy efficiency, comfort, and health of homes throughout Canterbury and the West Coast. As a not‑for‑profit organisation, its mission is to make warm, dry, and energy‑efficient housing accessible especially for vulnerable households.CEA provides a wide range of services. Through its Energy Advice Service, homeowners and tenants receive free, independent guidance tailored to their unique circumstances. Their skilled energy advisors can carry out a Home Performance Assessment reviewing heating, hot water, lighting, insulation, and appliance efficiency and issue a customised written report with recommendations and cost‑benefit estimates. CEA also engages communities through group presentations and educational outreach to spread awareness about creating healthier, energy‑efficient homes.
