When your powder coated joinery is chalky and faded, this is a result of oxidation. The weathering elements and sun are responsible for the degradation of the coating.
It becomes somewhat porous to moisture and minerals that are harmful to the powder coating and continue to harm the integrity of the coating.
We are able to clean away the oxidation in the first instance. However, if it is only cleaned, the elements will soon trigger the process again. Your joinery will continue deteriorating.
The natural oil system that we apply, following the cleaning and preparation process, fully penetrates the powder coating, where it cures to a hard flexible finish, bonding and sealing the coating.
The moisture and air are kept out. This makes the restored powder coating resilient to the weathering elements again.
Essentially, we take your joinery back to nearer the beginning of its life cycle. This is evidenced by both the restored colour and water-resistant properties you will see, when the process is completed.
No cutting back or additional coatings are applied. Our system penetrates to become as one with the original powder coating.
No additional colour is added, we restore the original colour of your joinery.
Some homeowners try applying clear coats or tint-based paints over their joinery. However, this means introducing another coating over the already compromised powder coating.
It leaves the home exposed to the potential of the additional coating applied, delaminating, crazing or discolouring if it fails, even partially.
